Utilising Grade 4 medical class laser. State of the art Laser technology.

** Fotona Starwalker - tattoo removal and fading is a process that requires patience, however we utilise the Fotona Q-Switch Technology - the world leaders in laser therapies and leader in tattoo removal technology. This allows us to halve the number of treatments you would typically need with other laser devices.

Laser affects the tattoo with very short and strong laser pulses that penetrate deep into the skin, without injuring the top layers. These pulses are then absorbed by the pigments in the ink which breaks them up into smaller particles. These are then naturally absorbed by the body’s own immune system.

People who have had tattoo removal by laser say that it feels like a rubber band snapping the skin. The number of treatments depends on the size of your tattoo as well as its location, depth and colour. Amateur tattoos are the easiest to remove whereas professional ones may require more treatment sessions. The tattoo will fade slowly between treatments as your body removes the remainders of the tattoo pigment.

Treatments are spaced between 6 to 12 weeks to allow the skin to heal between treatments however each tattoo is different, and you will require an individualised treatment plan. The body will continue to naturally break down the ink particles in weeks to come post-treatment.

What to expect post-treatment:

~ Frosting (immediately post treatment, this will subside within 20 mins approx).

~ Heat

~ Mild to moderate discomfort (can sometimes last up to 7 days post-treatment)

~ Swelling

~ Bruising

~ Scabbing/Crusting/blistering

~ Hyper/hypopigmentation

~ Scarring - this is very unlikely but with any laser treatment there are sometimes possibilities of complications. Those with darker skin types, poor circulation, history of keloid scarring, immune deficiencies and certain medications can increase the risk of scarring.

The skin will appear red and can sometimes present almost like a wound or scab. We highly recommend keeping the area covered and frequent use of bepanthen anti-septic cream.
